Management training
Management training at ABP Consulting teaches managers to lead people who do not think, communicate or decide the way they do. Programmes run one to three days in Seychelles, in English, French or Spanish.

6 courses

The manager-leader toolkit
The core management programme. Three days covering the work a manager actually does day to day — setting the frame, delegating, running one-to-ones, handling the conversation nobody wants to have. The third day comes a few weeks later, once the tools have met a real team.
- Give constructive corrective feedback
- Bring someone back into line

Motivating without a budget
Most managers have far less control over pay than over the things that actually drive engagement. This course covers the non-financial levers — autonomy, recognition, visible progress, meaning — and how to tell which one a given person responds to.
- Build a team's motivation agenda
- Set a challenge

Managing hybrid and distributed teams
When part of the team works from another island, from home or from a head office abroad, the office routine does not travel on its own. One day on the rules to set from the start, clear objectives, rituals that hold, and feedback and one-to-ones at a distance.
- Know the stages of managing at a distance
- Set clear objectives for remote and home working

Visual management — first level
Visual management puts the few things that matter where the whole team can see them, and turns a short daily meeting into something people act on. One day to build your first board, decide what earns a place on it, and run the ritual without it turning into surveillance.
- Understand the strengths and uses of visual management
- Strengthen your team's performance and sense of ownership

Managing with the Enneagram
The Enneagram describes nine ways of being motivated, and nine things that reliably go wrong under pressure. One day to recognise your own profile, read your team's, and stop managing everyone as though they wanted what you want.
- Know the 9 bases of the Enneagram
- Know your own personality base in the Enneagram

Leading change with the Kotter method
Reorganisations, relocations, new processes, new tools — change programmes fail on adoption far more often than on strategy. Two days on Kotter's eight steps, applied to a change you are actually running, so you leave with a sequenced plan rather than a model.
- Understand the human mechanisms of change, and adapt your posture as a manager accordingly
- Master the 8 steps of the Kotter method to steer a transformation project in a structured and effective way
Most management training assumes a shared baseline: everyone in the room learned roughly the same things about hierarchy, feedback and disagreement. In a Seychellois team that assumption fails immediately. A resort floor or a processing line can hold ten different ideas about what a manager is for, what "yes" means in a meeting, and whether disagreeing with a senior colleague in public is candour or insubordination. It fails a second way too: most managers here were promoted for being good at the job, not for being good with people, and nobody taught them the second part.
So our management programmes start one step earlier than most. Before technique — delegation, objectives, difficult conversations — participants map how they and their colleagues actually operate, using DISC and the Enneagram. That map is what makes the technique stick, because a delegation method that works on one profile fails on another, and managers need to know which one is sitting in front of them.
Every course below is modular. A manager who already runs solid one-to-ones but freezes in conflict does not need the whole programme; they need two modules. Tell us the gap and we will assemble the shortest programme that closes it.

Frequently asked questions
Who are these management courses for?
Team leaders, middle managers and business owners in Seychelles — in hotels and resorts, in fisheries and the port, in banking and the public service — from people managing their first team to managers with a decade of experience who want to sharpen a specific skill. Groups are mixed by seniority only when it helps the room; most sessions are grouped by level so the examples stay relevant.
What languages are ABP management courses delivered in?
English, French or Spanish. The choice is per programme, not per participant, so a group settles on one working language before the session. Both site languages are also delivery languages here, so there is no gap between what you can read and what you can be trained in. Kreol Seselwa is not a delivery language, and we say so rather than let a local presence imply otherwise.
How long is a management course?
One to three days, depending on the course. Programmes can also be split into half-days spread over several weeks, which usually works better for managers who cannot leave their team for three consecutive days.
Can training be delivered at our premises?
Yes, and it is the most common format here. In-company delivery lets participants work on real situations from their own team rather than generic case studies, and it avoids taking a whole management layer off the island. Sessions can also run live online, or as a mix — which is usually how a team split across Mahé and Praslin ends up attending the same programme.
Do participants receive a certificate?
Participants receive an attendance certificate from ABP Consulting naming the programme and its duration. These are professional development programmes, not accredited qualifications, and we describe them that way rather than implying a credential they do not carry.
